St. Croix B&B Sprat Hall

Sprat Hall Plantation - Caribbean Resort
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands

Sprat Hall is the oldest plantation on St. Croix and dates back to the French Occupation of St. Croix, 1650 - 1690. If you like tranquility, history, and bed and breakfast inns you will love this place. I hesitate using the term "bed and breakfast". You do get muffins and coffee in the morning, but it is not an old building someone bought, filled with antiques, gave a fancy name and called it a B&B. This is a real place! It's a story. It's a story about a family over time and it's a story of the history of St. Croix. The mahogany antiques that fill these rooms are family furniture accumulated during the many years they have lived here.

I opened a door to a wonderful mahogany armoire and inside there were pictures of three little girls. I inquired to one of the owners about this and was told that her mother, Joyce's. sister Anne had put them there when she was a young girl (around 1910). Joyce now has three daughters, one brunette and two blonds....Jenny runs the Inn with her mother, Jill has an Equestrian Stable and will take you on trips through the rain forest, and Judy will take you horseback riding as well.
