Every so often in life you stumble across a place that simply amazes
you. The Buccaneer, luxury oceanfront resort, on St. Croix is one of those
places. We are not the only ones who think so - Travel and Leisure Magazine
sited the Buccaneer as one of the, "Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean,"
and one of the, "Top 10 Best Values in the Caribbean," Conde Nast
Traveler Readers' Poll awarded the Buccaneer one of the, "Worlds Top
50 Tropical Resorts." It was originally founded in the 17th century
and is set on 300 tropical acres including 3 beautiful
beaches
and an 18 hole, Robert Trent Jones, golf course. A variety of elegant accommodations
are spaced on the property and children are welcome. There are four restaurants,
two of which rank among our favorite places on the island. We love going
to the Mermaid, their beach side restaurant, for lunch, and the experience
of enjoying classical cuisine and cocktails at the Terrace located in the
Great House while the sun is setting over Christiansted harbor is beyond
words. This St. Croix legend is peaceful, elegant and fun.
